Our Story

Billabone began in 2008, inspired by a simple need during a journey with my Labrador puppy. While traveling to dog training school, I searched everywhere for a "doggy on board" sign but could not find one anywhere. My partner, knowing how much it meant to me, had a friend at a print shop design one as a birthday gift.

To my surprise, when I arrived at the dog training school, everyone wanted one! What started as a thoughtful gift quickly turned into a small business. I began designing and creating custom signs for fellow dog owners, and soon after, the idea for doggy bandanas was born.

Billabone grew organically from just a handful of products to over 200, driven by our passion for creating stylish and practical dog accessories. We’ve loved every moment of this journey, and we take pride in sharing our passion with dog lovers everywhere.

How Billabone Evolved

What began with a simple "Dog On Board" sign soon grew into something much bigger. Through conversations with dog owners over the years, we discovered a common challenge: people often misunderstood a dog's needs during everyday interactions.

Some dogs needed space. Some were in training. Others were blind, deaf, recovering from injury, or simply more comfortable when approached in a certain way.

This inspired us to expand our range beyond signs and create colour-coded accessories that help dogs communicate their needs clearly and instantly. Today, Billabone's colour system helps create safer, more positive interactions between dogs, their owners and the people around them.
